  1. Honey Oat - The calming hydration mask

Ingredients + Utensils

2 tbsp Oats

1 tbsp Honey

1 tbsp Water (or rose water if available)

2 drops Vitamin E Oil ( if available or your fave face oil )

https://amzn.to/3a1JFmD

Small bowl

Teaspoon

Application brush ( A foundation brush will do the trick)

What is this mask’s superpower?

Oats have natural moisturizing properties, as well as acting as a gentle exfoliant, perfect for relieving sensitive and dry skin. The honey is a humectant ( draws and preserves moisture), so it couples with the oats to deepen that hydration.

Vitamin E oil is a liquid skin repairer, its an anti-oxidant, which essentially prevents oxidative damage to the skin cells, helping fight off free radicals ( these are enemies of skin progress, we don’t like these). It’s also a great anti-bacterial which fights against acne.

Instructions

In a bowl, add your oats followed by honey, mix till it binds together, then add water till it forms a thick paste, next add your oil and apply generously across your face. Lie down (it’ll drip) and let this sit for 20 minutes and rinse off. Use the oaty bits to exfoliate your face. Pat dry and moisturize your face.

Small bowl

Teaspoon

Application brush ( A foundation brush will do the trick)

Whats this mask’s superpower?

Where do we even begin with the amazing root that is turmeric, perhaps with a warning:

TURMERIC STAINS, SO BE SURE TO USE UTENSILS YOU DON’T MIND TURNING YELLOW AND WEAR GLOVES, SHOULD YOU NOT BE OF FAN OF YELLOW TINTED NAILS.

With that being said, we really adore turmeric. It is perfect for restoring that brightness and evenness to the skin. It is also known for fading dark spots and acne scars. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, so those pesky bumps and unwanted textures will be soothed by this queen of a root. The lemon juice comes in to help fade those uneven skin tones and restore the skins natural glow.

Tip:make sure you use a SPF when using lemon juice on the face, the citrus can make the face more sensitive to UV rays

Instructions

In a bowl, add your turmeric followed by lemon juice, gradually add your milk, adding more or less till it forms a thick paste, don’t let it be too runny. Apply generously across your face and allow it to dry. Wash of with a gentle face wash. Pat dry and moisturize your face.

3. Coco’nana - The moisturizing mask

Ingredients + Utensils

1/2 Medium Banana (Eat the rest, great potassium!)

1 tbsp Honey

2 tbsp Cocoa Powder ( Not hot chocolate)

2 drops Vitamin E Oil ( if available or your fave face oil )

https://amzn.to/3a1JFmD

Small bowl

Fork

Application brush ( A foundation brush will do the trick)

What is this mask’s superpower?

Its easy to underestimate how important moisture and hydration is to the skin. Our skin cells, like our nails and hair, are like plants, they too thrive when nourished, oxygenated and radiated with vitamin D. Bananas have natural silica and protein, which increases collagen production ( key to springy, resilient, wrinkle free skin) .

Again, honey’s humectant properties will bring moisture to your skin, whilst the vitamin e oil will keep those pesky free radicals at bay!

Instructions

In a bowl, roughly mash your banana, add the cocoa powder, then mix in honey, gently, till it binds together into a thick paste, next add your oil and apply generously across your face. Lie down ( it will drip) and let this sit for 20 minutes. Wash face using warm water and face cloth. Pat dry and moisturize your face.

4. The Face Cast - pore and black head minimising mask

Ingredients + Utensils

1 Egg

5 Sheets of toilet roll

Small bowl

Fork

Application brush ( A foundation brush will do the trick)

Whats this mask’s superpower?

DO NOT USE THIS MASK IF YOU HAVE EGG ALLERGIES, INTOLERANCES, CUTS, SCRAPES OR OPEN WOUNDS ON THE SKIN.

This mask works wonders for firming the skin, reducing those unwanted visible pores and removing peach fuzz that may be floating on your face. Its our personal fave!

Instructions

Separate the yolk from the whites of your egg, discard the yolk. Whisk the whites in a bowl till cloudy. Cut up each tissue sheet into 5 vertical strips (roughly). Using a brush, cover your face in a light coat of the whites, begin adding thin layers of tissue paper followed by egg whites ( like paper-mache ). Keep your whites application even and light so that it will dry through. Repeat for 3 layers. Allow the mask to dry through till hard, gently peel off. Wash face using warm water and a face cloth. Pat dry and moisturize your face.
